Les Corsos du Var : the Domaine du Bailli is where it’s at !

Welcome to the enchanting world of mimosa blossom and a winter countryside

Located between Le Lavandou and Saint-Tropez, the Domaine de Bailli’s hotels and residences are nestled in the heart of Rayol Canadel. Their prime location means they offer a programme of classic events and activities, including the Var’s ’Corsos fleuris’.

Winter destination: the Côte d’Azur

For a sun-soaked, scent-filled adventure in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, take a stroll along the famous Route du Mimosa from January to mid-March. Eight towns stretch over 30 km from Bormes-les-Mimosas to Grasse. Part of the route runs along the coast before entering the hilly hinterland. Stop off at the Domaine du Rayol, where guided tours give you a different perspective on the world of plants. This 20-hectare natural garden is an iconic location, where the flowers of the Mediterranean basin bloom in vivid colours and where the mimosa brightens the winter season with its dazzling fragrant yellow. At the foot of the Massif des Maures, explore the different zones and discover landscapes from around the world as the seasons change.  A round-the-world tour for all.

The ‘Corsos fleuris du Var’ take centre stage

February is also the period where the ’Corsos fleuris (floral carnival parades) take place. Fanfares, folk musicians and costumed characters accompany the procession. Bormes, Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Raphaël are wreathed in mimosa. In Le Lavandou, Roquebrune-sur-Argens and Cavalaire-sur-Mer, multicoloured carnations and other cut flowers adorn the floats. The Corso du Var is a great opportunity to celebrate all weekend long. There are non-stop musical performances, street shows and sports exhibitions over 2 days, before the start of the parade. Certain shops and restaurants even get in on the act, with menus and decorations that echo the Corso theme.

A carnival getaway at the Domaine du Bailli

The Domaine du Bailli in Le Rayol-Canadel is just twenty kilometres from one of the biggest Corsos in the Var. On 17 and 18 February 2024, the famous ‘Corso fleuri’ of Bormes-les-Mimosas will be changing its name and format to become ‘Corso, la nouvelle ère’ (the new era of the Corso). If you’re staying in the Var, Les Terrasses du Bailli and the Résidence du Bailli, close to Saint-Tropez, are perfect picks for enjoying the many events taking place in the local area.

We look forward to welcoming you! Our teams are on hand to help you plan your stay in the Var and make some unforgettable memories.
